By working with Dissertation to Defense LLC, you agree to the following universal and specific terms and conditions:
Coaching services take place digitally, by phone or online meetings (Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meets, Skype, etc.). We are a fully online, web-based firm: unless otherwise specified, coaching does not take place in person. Both the client and Dissertation to Defense retain the right to withdraw from the working relationship at any time. Professional development is done in person or hybrid.
We work with you directly. We support the work of your committees and will help you navigate their requests and recommendations as a part of our coaching services. We do not take their place, nor do we supersede their role in your dissertation journey. We do not however work for your dissertation committee and are not accountable to them directly or indirectly.
Dissertation to Defense does not guarantee you will graduate or that papers will be accepted by their academic institutions. We do not write or assist in any way with course assignments.
Billable Time: Clients are billed for time interfacing and working with coaches and editors. This includes but is not limited to phone and virtual meetings, email correspondence, reviewing and reading documents and submissions. Clients are not billed for routine bookkeeping or administrative duties.
Coaching Fees & Structure: Coaching services may be purchased by the hour or packaged to save money. Clients are encouraged to take advantage of packages as they are well suited to the multiple hours required for working on dissertation drafts, manuscripts and other large papers. See pricing for details. All coaching fees are due in advance and are non-refundable. Special requests or circumstances will be assessed by Dissertation to Defense on a case-by-case basis, and may occur if the retainer paid, greatly exceeded the work completed or the need for coaching. Terminating our services does not constitute a refund of the balance remaining on the account.
Additional discounts are provided for graduates who, after coaching, retain Dissertation to Defense, LLC. for professional editing.
Missed Appointments: Your time is valuable and so is your project. We want you to succeed and understand that life sometimes gets in the way. When that happens, we ask you to reschedule meetings with your coach at least one business day in advance of the scheduled session. Coach time is valuable too and set aside just for you. Those who cancel without advanced notice may be billed 50% of the cost of that missed session. Coaches are assigned based upon availability and suitability to your project. Occasionally, another coach may assist on a project to improve service to clients. An example of this is a need to change coaches due to field or specialty, or methodology. All coaching is done one on one.
Editing Fees: Professional editing and proofreading services require a minimum of half the estimated fee down at the time of service. The balance is paid when the editing service is complete, and the document is returned to you.
PowerPoint slides: Like editing services, PowerPoint slide edits and designs require half of the estimated fee at the time of service, with the balance payable upon receipt of the final project. Slide designs are done using the client’s content and the client retains full copyright of that presentation.
Additional Services: IRB applications and ProQuest submissions are flat rates, billed at the time of services. Research projects, professional development for staff training, and other large projects are assessed and billed as an entire project. Projects are calculated on an individual basis. Contact us for details.
Payment Methods: Dissertation to Defense LLC. currently accepts Zelle and PayPal. *We will add additional payment options in the near future.
